Dr Kaushlendra Kumar is Director, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RM&E) at Room to Read India, where he provides strategic and technical leadership for organizational assessments and evaluation. With over 16 years of research experience in population and development issues, he has shaped RM&E strategies for large-scale programs, specializing in study design, evaluation protocols and data analytics to foster evidence-based decision making.
Prior to joining Room to Read India, Kaushlendra served as Vice President of Research and Evaluation at a leading research firm and as Deputy Director of Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation at Evidence Action. He has also held roles with the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare under the Government of India and with MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child in New Delhi. In academia he has taught at the International Institute for Population Sciences in Mumbai and conducted research at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
Kushlendra holds a doctoral degree in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences and a master’s degree in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. An active contributor to the field he has presented his research at national and international seminars and conferences and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes.
In 2011 he was awarded the Parkes Foundation Grant by the University of Cambridge in recognition of his distinguished doctoral work.
