Rishi currently serves as Director, Program Operations at Room to Read India and is a member of the Country Management Team. In this role, he leads and supports the strategic and operational implementation of Room to Read’s programs nationwide.
Previously, as Director – Innovations and Donor Engagement, Rishi managed a diverse portfolio spanning learning and innovation, development of new program models and proposals, communications, and donor engagement. Before that, he spent five years in Program Operations, overseeing Foundational Literacy and Girls’ Education projects in partnership with organizations such as USAID, UNICEF, IKEA Foundation, Central Square Foundation, and Warburg Pincus.
Rishi’s earlier tenure at Pratham (2006–2018) included leading several FLN initiatives across Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. Notably, he spearheaded the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) initiative in partnership with J-PAL in Haryana (2011–2013), regarded as one of the most impactful education interventions. He has represented India’s education sector at several global forums, including UKFIET 2025, the “All Children Reading” workshop in Rwanda (2012), and the Nepal Planning Commission meeting (2015). In 2017, he contributed to Pratham’s International Collaboration Unit and began his journey with ASER as a student volunteer in 2005.
Rishi holds a PGDBM in Rural Management from IRM Jaipur (2006) and a BA in Economics, History, and English Literature from Ajmer (2003).
