Poornima Garg

Poornima Garg, the Deputy Country Director at Room to Read India, co-leads and supports the office of the country director by providing leadership, strategic direction, management, and evaluation of Room to Read India's programs and country strategy. Poornima also plays a key role in external representation, donor management, people operations, administration, marcomm, and strategic partnership.

Poornima has diverse experience in leadership for almost two decades in both non-profit and for-profit sectors, primarily in education and business management. Her passion is to work on gender equality, inclusion, diversity, early grade foundational learning, and organizational development. She has spent a decade working in the publishing sector on developing age-appropriate quality reading material. She was awarded the title of 'The Phenomenal She' in 2019 by the Indian National Bar Association for the contribution made in advocating to establish ICC in the organization under the POSH act.

Poornima, an alumna of Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Delhi University, is a certified Life Coach and holds a post-graduation degree in business management. She is an accredited competency assessor from XLRI and holds certification on multiple psychometric assessments.

Under Poornima's strategic and functional leadership, Room to Read India has been awarded a 'Great Place to Work' certification for the past seven consecutive years.
