When schools shut down, we had to act quickly to ensure Education endures

The outbreak of COVID-19 both highlighted and intensified the inequalities in the education ecosystem. Since its inception, Room to Read India, has advocated for literacy and gender-equal education. These testing times challenged us to strengthen our understanding of the education system and tested our expertise to cater to the arising needs. We took advantage of our strong on-ground network and relationships with decision-makers, teachers, and community leaders to keep the students actively engaged during the lockdown. Our resources have to be quickly and efficiently adapted for fast dissemination to children using multiple channels to minimize the gap of the digital divide.
